Cosmo Bike Park
Several years of partnership with Columbia Parks and Rec on the development of a state of the art bike park came full circle in 2025 with its official opening in May and it’s been the best feeling to see our community come together to connect and share this space for recreation! It’s exceeded our wildest dreams already in how much the community’s putting it to good use with bikes, scooters, skates and skateboards!
COMOTA has committed hundreds of hours of volunteer work to transform this space, including a considerable amount of invasive honeysuckle removal and trail building to connect Rhett’s Run to Cosmo Bike Park, providing skill building areas both on and off natural surface trails.
The completion of the Bike Park project also saw the 2025 season for the COMO Cyclocross series and Cosmo Cross races at the new venue, bringing hundreds of riders for both competitive and recreational events you should definitely try to catch–or register for!-- in 2026.
For everyone who came out to the Cosmo Bike Park opening or some of the cyclocross events in 2025, we hope you felt the magic of the moments and our community pride! And we hope you feel it for a long time.
Please help us continue to make these trail projects possible, big and small, with a donation to CoMo Gives!
TODAY, is the last day for our match donors at Frank Morris Trust to contribute a dollar for each dollar you send our way! Gratitude to this community for moving us forward and helping move forward our community’s vision for our trails!

Big things have happened in local singletrack this year, but Woodpecker Hollow will always stand as COMOTA’s first venture in trail building from start to finish. Every time we hike, run or bike it, we’re reminded how a single mile of natural surface trail through the Hinkson Valley Nature Preserve is unparalleled for a quick, immersive getaway from the noise and hustle of the city.
At right around one mile of fairly flat singletrack, Woodpecker Hollow is a great place to start with young riders, hikers and runners who want to try a new scene on dirt without yet having the endurance to tackle trails with longer mileages. To the littles on small bikes– pedals or no pedals!– Hinkson Valley is a whole new world to explore and Woodpecker Hollow is just the right distance to enjoy without a trail meltdown. Load up your bikes and make it a winter break outing with zero admission fees.
Huge thanks to our donors and volunteers for supporting COMOTA’s mission and community partnerships. We thank Greenbelt Land Trust for being stewards of this unique urban land and Local Motion for sponsoring the annual Hinkson Happy Hour on the trail!
Your donation to CoMo Gives stays local and returns right back into the trails– and through the end of our campaign will be generously matched by Frank Morris Trust. Even small contributions make a big difference. Thanks so much and see you at Woodpecker Hollow!
