Grab a drink at The Exchange () on Thursday, August 27 from 5pm-7pm and step back in time to explore the streets surrounding Penn Square in the 1700s and 1800s. Historian and curator Stephanie Townrow will bring Lancaster City’s past to life, tracing some of the people, taverns, markets, and businesses. You’ll never look at downtown Lancaster the same way again!

Tickets will be $35 each and include the first drink (alcoholic and non-alcoholic options available) and lite bites by The Exchange. They will be available at the link in our bio.

Join me on Thursday, July 23, 2026, at 6 p.m. at the Quarryville Library Center in the C. X. Carlson Cultural Room for my 'Yes, Lancaster was the U.S. Capital for a Day' presentation.

On September 27, 1777, Lancaster, Pennsylvania, became the capital of the United States for one extraordinary day. This presentation explores the dramatic events that brought the Continental Congress to Lancaster during one of the most dangerous moments of the American Revolution. From the British campaign against Philadelphia to Congress’s hurried flight west, the talk follows the people, decisions, and crisis that placed Lancaster at the center of the nation’s struggle for independence. Attendees will discover what happened inside the courthouse that once stood in Penn Square, who was there, why Congress stayed for only a few hours, and how this often-overlooked moment secured Lancaster’s place in American history.

This in-person program is free and open to the public. It is perfect for adults and young teenagers who love to explore or enjoy local history.

I will have free Uncharted Lancaster stickers and magnets for attendees. As well as signed copies of my books for sale. I will donate 50 percent of all proceeds from that night’s sales to the Quarryville Library.
