In this month’s edition of “What’s Your Why Wednesday,” meet Louis Reier, D.O., neurosurgeon at Arrowhead Regional Medical Center.
When Dr. Reier was 15, he was paralyzed from a snowboarding accident, but recovered after months of physical therapy. After that experience, Dr. Reier became interested in the physiology of the brain and spinal cord and wanted to dedicate his life to helping others in similar situations.
In his current role at ARMC, Dr. Reier cares for patients throughout the Intensive Care Unit and the Emergency Department for cases involving pathology to the brain or the spine. He regularly draws from his own experience to bring compassion to the patients that he treats.
