Pastor Kelly is releasing his fifth published book in partnership with Wifp and Stock Publishing. He began writing this book in 2019. It is called, “Leaving Your Places of Sh*ttim: A Journey From Bo***ge To Blessings.”

Sh*ttim is a real place in the Bible. It is the last place Israel camped before crossing over the Jordan into the promised land.

They had come so far in their journey from bo***ge in Egypt but the last place they camped the enemy tried to curse them but couldn’t, so the pagan prophet Balaam created a situation that tempted the people of God to curse themselves through immorality and idolatry in Sh*ttim. Once you give your life to Jesus, the enemy can’t curse you anymore, but he can get you to curse yourself.

All of us have things in our lives that tempt us to curse ourselves as followers of Jesus. We all have things that bid us to go back to Egypt and live in the slavery and addictions God has freed us from in our walks with Jesus. I think we underestimate how important our life-giving words are to the souls of those who love us and respect us and look to us for fresh water for their souls.

My double nickel birthday yesterday was full of words from my family members who love me, respect me, and believe in me as a child of God and leader called to influence others for Jesus.
