It's World Kindness Day. Here are 10 ways to show animals kindness today:

1. Refill a bird bath or hang a bird feeder
A simple bowl of fresh water or a feeder filled with seed can help birds and small wildlife stay hydrated and nourished. To keep them healthy, be sure to clean feeders and water sources regularly to prevent the spread of disease.​

2. Donate gently used supplies to your local animal shelter or wildlife rehabilitation center
Clean towels, blankets and pet beds, or unopened food can provide comfort and care to animals waiting for homes.

3. Pick up litter during your walk
Plastic, glass and other trash can harm animals in parks and neighborhoods. A quick clean-up keeps them safe.

4. Plant native flowers and shrubs
Native plants provide essential food and shelter for local wildlife, including birds, butterflies and bees. By incorporating native species into your garden, you support biodiversity and help maintain healthy ecosystems.

5. Give your own animals extra time and attention
Take an extra walk, offer a new treat or spend a few more minutes cuddling—small gestures that mean the world to them.

6. Share an adoptable animal on social media
Your post might help a shelter animal find their forever home.

8. Leave out fresh water on a hot day
