Smooth Green Snake (Opheodrys vernalis) are small slender snakes that can reach 12 to 20 inches in length and are non-venomous. Their green color allows them to blend into grassy meadows, prairies, and vegetation.

With more than 2.2 million acres, Yellowstone National Park has a lot of amazing wonders for one to explore from the natural landscapes to the diverse wildlife that roam the land. Some of my favorite are the geothermal geysers, mountains, bison, elk, and their cultural history.

Ord's kangaroo rats are the only mammals that live their entire lives in the main dunefield of Great Sand Dunes National Park, surviving without drinking water by obtaining moisture from seeds stored in the sand.
