Posted • I just want to take a moment to say THANK YOU to everyone that texted, called, messaged, commented, sent gifts, or reached out us in any way over the last week. This last week was definitely the most difficult since the initial heartache and shock of losing Aiden. Your love, thoughts and generosity are uplifting and healing. Please don’t ever think you will say the wrong thing or hurt us more. We will always appreciate you taking time to share a memory or just tell us we are in your thoughts. There is no guidebook on what to say or do when dealing with this kind of grief and loss and we have GRACE to understand how it is difficult for others as well.

If you are still looking for a way to support us, please consider registering for this incredible FUNDRAISING event! I know that running or even walking a 5k may not be everyone’s forte, but the day is just as much about spending time together as it is about getting outdoors and enjoying the beauty of nature. If you don’t want to walk or run, please still register to get a t-shirt and treasure box in Aiden’s memory. You can also register for the virtual race and wear your t-shirt in support from near of far. We want to share this weekend with as many people as possible! Please consider registering to join us, even if you don’t plan to participate in the “exercise” part of the event. Any funds that are raised in excess of what we need to run the event will be evenly divided and donated to Care and Share Food Bank and The Catamount Institute. We have just over 100 people registered already! Let’s keep the registration momentum going!

Tomorrow we will be surrounded by our friends and family as we gather to honor the memory of our Aiden.

A poem to share…

'Tis a Fearful Thing
By Yehuda Halevi

‘Tis a fearful thing
to love what death can touch.

A fearful thing
to love, to hope, to dream, to be – to be,
And oh, to lose.

A thing for fools, this,
And a holy thing,
a holy thing
to love.

For your life has lived in me,
your laugh once lifted me,
your word was gift to me.

To remember this brings painful joy.

‘Tis a human thing, love,
a holy thing, to love
what death has touched.
