Our President and CEO Liz Denson is a finalist!

❤️ Last week, we welcomed a group from the PILLAR Institute for Lifelong Learning for a tour of Early Connections. We love giving tours because it's a chance for people in our community to see our mission come to life. But every once in a while, something unexpected happens too.

As the tour wrapped up, one woman in the group stopped our Community Engagement team with a question: "Does Harrison Sokol work here?"
She had noticed his name on an office door and started connecting the dots. When our team confirmed that yes, that Harrison, the one working here now, was in fact the little boy she remembered, her face lit up immediately.

She shared that she had been Harrison's third grade talented and gifted teacher.
Then, just moments later, she learned that Kaylin Cole works at Early Connections too. She had taught Kaylin as a student as well.

You could see the emotion wash over her. She talked about what it meant to see two former students, years later, building careers that make a real difference for children and families. She was so proud of where they had landed and the work they were doing. It was one of those moments that catches you completely off guard.

It's a reminder that we rarely get to see the full story.

Years ago, she poured into two young students, never imagining that one day she'd walk into an organization like Early Connections and find them there, using their unique gifts to help strengthen our work and support the children and families we serve every day.

There are moments that remind us how much our work matters. And then there are moments like this one, reminders that caring for, believing in, and investing in children can come full circle in ways we never expect.

❤️ A big thank you to the amazing team at Fat Sully's Pizza for giving our Dragonflies classroom such a fun and memorable experience. Chef Dani and Manager Sal welcomed our children with so much kindness and patience as they learned how to make their own pizzas. To make the day even sweeter, everyone enjoyed a treat from Frozen Gold Ice Cream. 🍦🍕

These hands-on community experiences are just one of the many ways we help children learn, explore, and make lasting memories at Early Connections. Thank you for making our summer program so special! ❤️
