We took the kids with us this year to Mexico for Dead Ahead.

While I know this music won’t have the same impact on them as it did for me I’m happy that I got to share such an important part of what made me who I am.

They say when your child turns 14 that 75% of the time they have growing up in your household is gone and there’s only a short time left before they are on their own.

While we as parents always celebrate all of their firsts like learning to walk, talk, run, go to school, first dates, first dances, or even the first time they drive it’s always the lasts that are the hardest. The last time you can pick them up, the last time they ask to play just one more game, the last time you get to kiss them good night as you tuck them in bed. You never know when the last one will be but I promise you’ll miss it when it no longer happens.

They really do grow up too fast
