2024 will be like all the others, unless a change is made.

The easiest way I have found to incorporate new healthy habits is to make one small change at a time. Whenever you are ready. It's not a race. You are in control of your life. Change it as fast or slow as you please.

Had someone come to me with struggles of continuing their fitness path. They kept "falling off the wagon."

Here is some advice

Just showing up is the most important thing to do in the beginning. Don't focus on what to do. It sounds crazy, but just show up, even for 5 minutes. When you get there, you'll pick something and feel more motivated. You'll see everyone else working out and bettering themselves. Being around like-minded people who are after the same thing helps. After a while, you will want to start trying new things and learn more. It's also about finding exercises that you like, so that you want to come back. There is an overwhelming amount of things telling people what to do on the internet. Don't let that discourage you. Figure out if you like standard weightlifting, High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT), Zoomba, orange theory-type stuff, group exercise, calisthenics, etc. Once you find what you like to do, you'll research exercises and just have fun trying them out. You'll learn as you go!

The key is to make a SMART goal (acronym). It'll help you stay discliplined when you don't feel like it. The goal has to truly mean something to you. If it doesn't, it won't get you through the tough times. Think of it this way, if your boss gave you a goal for work, you'd do it. Without thought. This is yourself we are talking about. You and your goals matter more than theirs. You may get paid to meet their goals, so what do you get when you meet yours? What makes it worth it to you?

The biggest character trait to do this successfully is discipline. Just imagine you are disciplined enough to get through it. Convince yourself, and make it your truth!

One casual change at a time.
