The Town of Malone is holding a public hearing on November 16 on Colonie-based Cipriani Energy Group’s proposal to build a ground-mounted solar facility located at 176 Bare Hill Rd, Malone, NY. ⚡️🔌

♻️ Provides clean, emission-free electricity
đź’µ Can reduce residential utility bills by as much as 10%
đź§ľ Produces $10,000 annual tax revenue for 35 years
❌ Includes a “decommissioning plan” that leaves no trace
🔍 Hidden from view, not close to the river, and no residential area nearby

Malone residents are encouraged to attend or submit comments to the Town Board.

The Town of Malone held a public hearing on June 22nd to vote on Colonie-based Cipriani Energy Group’s proposal to build a ground-mounted solar facility located at 176 Bare Hill Rd, Malone NY. Here is key information about the proposed solar facility:

• Provides clean, emission-free electricity
• Can reduce residential utility bills by as much as 10%
• Produces $5,000 per megawatt in annual tax revenue, for 35 years
• Includes a “decommissioning plan” that leaves no trace
• All steel for solar panels are recycled
• Hidden from community view, not close to the river, and no residential area nearby
• Project is smaller in scale, only 2 megawatts
• Bare Hill Road project site is only 15 acres
• Less than ½ acre is prime farmland, with setbacks between the fencing and the panels, final number will be in the 0-1/4 acre range
• Glare analysis has been performed and the project passes
• Project will be subscribed as community Solar by NOCO a 75+ year old New York company. http://www.noco.com/green/

The public hearing remains open and anyone who wishes to submit their comments to the Town may still do so in writing until July 12th.

We are asking residents and business owners who support renewable energy and want to lower their utility bills to send a letter to the town board regarding this community solar project to voice their support. Could we count on yours?
