Northern Wisconsin: Hey there everyone! I just wanted to share some photographs from an incredible interview I had with 34th Infantry Division soldier and veteran Mr. Wehlitz who fought in Italy and had his lower left arm seriously wounded by a German mortar shell. His injuries were so severe that the doctors had to amputate his arm which also happened to be his dominant hand. I traveled to meet Mr. Wehlitz to his incredible tale firsthand and to capture it for the Remember WWII YouTube Channel. Let’s give this hero the recognization he deserves. Believe it or not, he was only given the Purple Heart medal and I would like someone’s help to get him the rest of the wards his deserves. Thanks and GOD BLESS!

"Had I been standing up, I'd have been gone"

Raymond Tarabusi's war testimony covers in great detail the first-hand experience he had serving in the US Army in the time around D-Day. Mr Tarabusi followed the initial wave, being sent to Normandy to help with Operation Cobra, an attempt to break Allied forces out of Normandy and gain a firm foothold in mainland Europe. Mr Tarabusi saw his friends die, and witnessed all kinds of grim realities of war as his service took him from Normandy to the Ardennes, and the infamous Battle of the Bulge.
