❤️ What a dynamic duo! ❤️

We are so glad Jennifer recruited her mom Rose Ann to volunteer with 901 POP. They work tirelessly behind the scenes and also lead arranging so that we can spread joy through repurposed flowers.

Jennifer said, “With a busy schedule, volunteering at 901 POP allows us to spend extra time together. We both love to arrange flowers and being able to spread joy is the icing on top. 901 POP has also allowed us to meet the kindest individuals.”

What is your favorite memory of serving together with 901 POP? “I think Rose Ann and I always divide and conquer if it’s arranging or putting away clean vases. We enjoy being able to spend time together arranging flowers so I feel like each arraning shift could be a favorite memory.”

Thank you both so very much for all you do to make our mission possible! 🌺

As we celebrate mothers and mother figures this time of the year, we’re shining a light on women who inspire service, compassion and connection in 901 POP. We’re especially grateful for Amy Wilhite, who you often see leading our pick up crew. A dedicated “night owl” AND “early bird” who has rescued countless flowers, Amy has passed on her heart for service to her daughter Mary. Mary is a senior at St. Agnes and is headed to the University of Arkansas in August. We asked Mary to share about her volunteer experiences with her mom. 💗

Your mom does an amazing job leading the 901 POP pick-up crew. Can you share some of the ways you have volunteered with 901 POP? I volunteer with my mom when she needs another hand or car because of the quantity of flowers being picked up. I have also helped with the turkey and lovebug deliveries, along with other floral deliveries around Memphis.

Do you have a favorite memory of volunteering with your mom at 901 POP? My favorite memory was when we went to a nursing home to deliver flowers and watched the residents’ faces light up over a simple arrangement. Another fun memory is making the flower balloons for 901 POP’s birthday parties!

Can you share a bit about the role of volunteering in your mom’s life and the example she has set for you? I remember when my mom first started to get more involved with 901 POP and hearing her talk about the amazing things the organization does. It made me want to volunteer. She has shown me that it takes lots of people to help things run smoothly, so everything from trimming the bottom of flowers to arranging and delivering them – it all holds an importance.

Why would you invite others to volunteer with 901 POP? There are so many different ways to get involved, and there is something for everyone. It can be something more independent such as cleaning buckets or it could be going out and delivering the flowers and talking to people.

Thank you, Amy and Mary, for the many ways you have put our mission into action…and a big congratulations, Mary, on your graduation! 🌟
