Rhyder fought through five matches to earn his National Championship gold medal!

From a coaching standpoint, he was completely locked in. He zoned in on his coach, trusted the game plan, and was laser focused on each opponent.

The moment through his 5 match run we are most proud of came in the semifinals. Rhyder faced an opponent whom he had been struggling against all season. This match was not decided in the ring. It was decided in the countless hours of practice that Rhyder put in leading up to Nationals. Every moment on the training floor he worked incredibly hard, he was deliberate, and had the support of his teammates who spent countless rounds sparring with him.

The result? A dominant 2-0 victory, holding his opponent to 0 points in both rounds.

Moments like this are why we train. Growth isn't always immediate, but with consistent effort, the breakthrough eventually comes.

Great job, Rhyder! We're incredibly proud of you! 🥇🥋

🎉 Good news to share this morning!

Last week, local Brazos County resident Rhyder Havens competed at the AAU Taekwondo National Championship and earned a gold medal in his division!

Rhyder trains and competes with Infinity Taekwondo in College Station. We are so proud of all the hard work and dedication he put in this season, coming out 1st among over 25 other athletes competing in his division at nationals. Way to go, Rhyder!

Proud of this team! This is the smallest team we have taken to Collegiate Nationals over the past few years due to conflicts with finals and Texas State Championships. But the athletes that were able to attend, showed up and left their all out there. Effort always comes first with all of our teams and programs!

What matters more…
Winning the match or how you carry yourself during it?

At Infinity Taekwondo, this is what we’re watching for.

Not just the points.
Not just the result.

We’re watching:
✔ How they respond to coaching
✔ How they handle pressure
✔ How they treat their opponent before and after.

Because anyone can win on a good day…
But character shows up every day.

At Infinity Taekwondo, we’re building athletes who:
Show respect 🤝
Stay composed under pressure 🧠
And keep growing—win or lose 📈

That’s what actually lasts.

👇 I want to hear from you:

If you had to pick one—
Would you rather your child be known for winning or for their character?

On this day, Ms. Avery brought home the Gold 🥇. At the Texas A&M Open, she fought in a division filled with Red and Black Belts. She stayed composed and fought hard in spite of the obstacle in front of her 🥋
