Today, on the one-year anniversary of the devastating flooding along the Guadalupe River and across Burnet, San Saba, Travis, and Williamson Counties, we pause to remember.

Our hearts remain with the families and friends who continue to grieve the loss of loved ones. We also honor the countless first responders, emergency personnel, volunteers, and state agencies who worked tirelessly throughout the extended response, often facing difficult and emotional challenges of their own.

Anniversaries like this remind us of the strength, resilience, and compassion shown by communities coming together in the face of tragedy. As we reflect on the lives impacted, we remain grateful for those who answered the call to serve and support others during one of Texas’ most challenging times. ; ; ;

The members of Texas A&M Task Force 1 remain activated, responding to flooding across the state. Sometimes traveling from one corner of the state to another in a days time, sleepless nights, and rescue work throughout the day, these responders remain committed to serving Texans. We are thankful for their sacrifice and dedication, as well as the sacrifices their families endure back home while they’re gone.
