Congratulations to Skyler Nix! One of our excellent undergraduate research students investigating the microbiota of Purple Martins.

Congratulations to Skyler Nix, an ECCB undergraduate student who was recently accepted into the Yale Conservation Scholars -- Early Leadership Initiative. The program, previously known as the Doris Duke Conservation Scholars Program at the University of Michigan/Yale School of the Environment, is a prestigious summer opportunity. Skyler is also a student research assistant with the Biodiversity Research and Teaching Collections and works with the Texas Conservation Alliance, and in those roles he's been an invaluable contributor to the Lights Out, Texas! initiative. So let's congratulate Skyler, pictured here holding a Purple Martin, the bird species he is performing gut-microbiota research on in Dr. Jacquelyn Grace's Avian Communities and Ecophysiology Lab.
