PushPush Arts presents the Ukrainian Play Project — an evening of two contemporary plays by Ukrainian playwrights whose lives and work have been shaped by war. While rooted in the realities of war, these plays are anything but bleak—fast-paced, surprising, often funny, and deeply human.

Play One: A Text for Theater by Antonina Crimea, translated by John Freedman, is an intimate reflection on the role of art and storytelling in times of conflict. Crimea is currently serving in the Ukrainian Armed Forces. 30 minutes. Presented by Tim Habeger.

Play Two: Blue Potatoes, Yellow Guns by Hanna Bulatova is a bold, fast-paced, and surprisingly humorous new play that follows one family’s journey through Ukraine’s fight for sovereignty. 60 minutes. Featuring Alex Van, Louis Kyper, Sergia Starr, Mikell Edwards, and Matty Forde.

Presented as part of the PushPush Arts Portal International Exchange Program in partnership with the Center for International Theater Development and the Worldwide Ukrainian Play Reading Series.
