I took an educational trip this past weekend to explore a nature preserve on one of the San Juan Islands, called Yellow Island. Over an hour on boat there and back, it definitely feels pretty isolated!

It’s a time capsule of human interaction and intervention over the centuries, standing out from the rest of the islands as a grassland, instead of coniferous. This time of year the island explodes with native wildflowers, and it was such a cool experience hiking through a burst of color.

Becoming more educated on conservation efforts in the PNW is an objective of mine this year, and this was a great experience! 🌼

Incredible!!! This was our first wedding of 2026 when we were still deep in snow. Next weekend heading into a double wedding weekend to kick start the season! Whooo hoooo!!!
