Today was one of those days that reminds me why I started Space Coast Water Sweep.
I had the opportunity to attend the Orca restoration event and connect with some incredible people who are passionate about protecting and restoring our waters. From reef restoration efforts to conversations about the future of the Indian River Lagoon, it was inspiring to see so many organizations, volunteers, and community leaders working toward the same goal.
I was honored to meet representatives from the City of Sebastian, including members of the Mayor's team, and I'm excited to have been invited to speak at an upcoming city meeting about Space Coast Water Sweep and the Water Report Network.
I also had the chance to connect with Reef Innovations and discuss future restoration opportunities that could benefit Florida's east coast.
What excites me most is seeing how many people are willing to work together. Every cleanup, restoration project, educational lesson, wildlife report, and volunteer effort helps move us one step closer to healthier waterways.
Thank you to Orca and everyone involved for hosting such a great event and for everything you're doing to make a difference.
The future of our waters depends on all of us.
Cleaner Water Starts With Us.
If you haven't already, check out the Space Coast Water Sweep app and join us in protecting Florida's waterways.

I going to be there to help anyone want to join
Last year, ORCA partnered with One Lagoon, the City of Sebastian, 11th Hour Racing, and dedicated volunteers to restore a section of shoreline at Riverview Park in Sebastian by installing oyster reef ball breakwaters, native shoreline vegetation, and a buffered upland that filters runoff and creates habitat.
Since then, our dedicated research team and citizen scientists have continued monitoring the site, and the results have been encouraging.
Now, we're building on that success by installing additional breakwater structures and expanding the living shoreline with new native plants. This phase of the project is made possible through the generous support of the Coastal Conservation Association (CCA).
Join us on June 23 as we continue restoring and strengthening this shoreline together.
