This morning, I went to my old Gmail /email account looking for an old family photo from my Dad.

Found some mementos from the 2010s instead. I cringed so much with my NON email etiquette, and clapped like I was watching an old game at my involvement & achievement in some good creative craziness. 🤣😩🥴🙏🏽

The refuel I didn’t even know I needed.

Sometimes we are our own muses. 🖼️

When you listen to podcasts the voice/voices in your ear feels like someone you actually know. Not because they’re qualified. Not because they’re right. Because they’re close.

I pulled over to watch them for a while.

I didn’t grow up around horses.

New glasses. Cat eye frames.

And I immediately felt like I belong in 1960.

That’s not a coincidence.

That’s media doing what media does.

Cat eye glasses = a specific era, a specific woman, a specific cultural moment.

Media taught us that before you ever tried on a pair.

Glasses are a health aide.

But Hollywood gave them a whole personality. Lol.

And we’ve been performing it ever since.
