Sheba was always an angel just tiptoeing through.
She was a gift to so many different walks of life. I have hundreds if not thousands of pictures and videos of her with her recruits or her sister, Cora. She lived for each moment of the day and gave her all doing it. Even if it was the best nap you could imagine! And as long as it wasn't raining, she was at attention for anything you could muster up. ❤️ I know she is probably helping to keep the kids straight on the other side of the rainbow bridge. They must have been getting too rowdy and she was called on for assistance. 😜🌈🐾

I appreciate all of the words of support and kindness. With your help we raised enough for her final expenses to be covered. I can't thank you enough for taking that bit of stress off my shoulders. Days following losses like these always feel surreal. The empty space lingers and will make you do a double take so many times over your shoulder without thought.
One day at a time and holding close to those beautiful memories we made together. ❤️
Thank you again for the love guys. ❤️

Sheba,
I could not have been a luckier person to have met and joined you in this journey. My gratitude for you is beyond measure. I needed you so much more than you needed me. After losing my first goats to a dog attack and dreaming of starting a sanctuary after that stupid concussion, I knew I would never feel safe doing so without the help of a guardian dog. You and your sister, Cora, were lost and without purpose. At 2 years old, you were labeled escape artists and worthless. You had been with three separate owners and each said that you couldn't be fixed.

You arrived and without hesitation stepped up as our best and most loyal babysitter to so many kids of all kinds. None of them looked like you or talked like you but they were your whole world. They truly loved you back for that. They gravitated to you for the comfort and protection you showed each one. 11 years is a lot for a big girl and 9 of those you worked without loss of a single friend to a predator that lurked beyond the fence or in the air.
And never once did you ever try to leave.
Your purpose was so pure and beautiful.
We will always love and cherish everything you did for these kids that stayed under your watch. ❤️🐾🌈

Sheba left this world before the fireworks of July 4th. Her body was so tired and she had stopped eating. The heat has been horrific and sometimes it triggers other illnesses into overdrive. Sheba, like many guardian dogs hid her pain and discomfort well, too well. She told us it was time before she showed us. It was not a hard decision to let her be at peace but it has been one of the most painful ones.
My heart aches for Cora to lose her other half though I try to feel very fortunate they had each other for so long.

Rest in cool breezes and sweet grass my biggest puppy girl.
Sheba's veterinary expenses and individual cremation totalled $1102.
Please consider making a donation in her memory to help cover her final care. We need the help so much right now and we are so grateful for your kindness. ❤️

D**k watches over Patience in our barn paddock. In the distance, their pond house sits empty. The drought is so extreme here that the entire pen that normally holds 3+ feet of water, is now dry and cut off from the rest of the pond.
I have not seen it this low in 4 years.
Even the shallow water is too warm to be healthy.

So we gathered up the water kids and brought them up to the barn. I went out and purchased 3 baby pools for everyone to have enough swim zones. It was only $36 but it still is money unexpectedly spent when times are tight.
The most important thing on my mind is ALWAYS their health and well-being. I'm glad they are closer to the barn with me in this upcoming heat wave.

We will be in the 90s for the rest of this week and next. This prolonged heat is so tough on our older kids. I can comfort them in the cold but I can never seem to get everyone comfortable in the heat. Please send us some rain dances and cooling thoughts! ❤️🥵🌧️
