Adoption Connection

Sometimes, scrolling Instagram can feel like a "how to" for parenting. ⁣

⁣Say this, not that. ⁣⁣

Do this, not that. ⁣⁣

And while so many of these tips are helpful and wonderful guides, I think as parents they can also give us this illusion of control over outcomes with our children. (Something we probably all wish we had!)⁣⁣

As parents, we can do all of the things recommended to us by experts on Instagram, books, blogs, doctors and other professionals and still there are going to be hurdles, struggles and outcomes we were never prepared for. ⁣⁣

And that's just how life is sometimes. Unpredictable, hard and complicated.⁣⁣

We cannot control every single thing now or in their future, nor should we. ⁣⁣

Our children, just like us are unique humans having a unique life experience and no one solution or strategy is going to "solve" every challange. ⁣

⁣All we can do is our best. ⁣

⁣Keep trying new things. ⁣⁣Roll with what comes our way.⁣⁣

Support them the best we can, with what we have.
