If Echoes of the Void left you staring at the last page thinking, “You can’t end it there…”, I promise, I haven’t forgotten. I know some of you are eager to get your hands on it. The cliffhangers left plenty of unanswered questions — and many of them will be addressed in Kings of Chaos.

Without giving away any spoilers, I’ll just say that the resolutions to those cliffhangers are not quiet ones. Alliances are fractured. Power structures shift. More than one character is forced to make a choice between survival and something far worse. It was a lot of fun writing those scenes—and occasionally reining them in as they attempted to take control of the plot and spin it into a thousand directions. Writing this volume has surprised me more than once, reminding me of why I began writing fantasy in the first place. I’m beginning to suspect the series may conclude in four books instead of five. The story seems determined to resolve itself sooner than I expected. I’ll know for certain once this volume is complete.

The anticipated publication date is Black Friday (November 27). The Kindle version is currently available for preorder, and I’m working on getting paperback and hardcover versions available for preorder soon. An update: Echoes of the Void has been uploaded to ACX and is going through their rigorous quality review process. It could take up to 10 days (per their website) but it did not take that long for Savant to get approved. Assuming they find no quality issues that I need to deal with, it should be ready for Audible in another few days.

A bit of disclosure.
I have been asked about when the Audible version of Echoes of the Void will be released. I have been fighting an upper respiratory infection, an intestinal issue, and a kidney infection all at the same time for over two weeks now. It has put a significant damper on my efforts to get the recordings (which are complete, but not post-processed) ready for submission to ACX. I'm not over the illness yet and am still running a moderate fever and still have a cough from the lung infection. I just want to assure everyone that I WILL get the Audible files ready. I've worked on them for several hours today and will continue the effort until it's done. It won't be much longer, I promise. Thanks for your patience!
