We join with all our surrounding departments in deep mourning of the loss experienced in Tremonton today.

Our hearts go out to the City, department, family, friends, and loved ones of the two officers who gave their lives in the service of their community. The impact ripples through all of us in times like these.

We wish a full recovery to the injured deputy and their K9 as well.

Transparency Matters.
As a current city council member, I was elected as a voice for the community. The city council is the legislative branch of Clinton City, and we approve the budget for each fiscal year. I maintain public funds with integrity and transparency.

But right now, with the election coming up, serious questions need to be asked.

Why is the Clinton City budget “Public Money” being used to fight a referendum and litigation? And even more troubling, why is the referendum in litigation by someone who is now running for a seat on the Clinton City Council?

This isn’t just a legal issue. It’s an ethical one.

Fighting the City while simultaneously campaigning for office creates a troubling conflict of interest. It’s not just about dollars: it’s about trust, priorities, and the democratic process.
Transparency Matters: As of today, Clinton City has spent $26,493 in legal fees related to the referendum and litigation. This does not even factor in the time spent by the Clinton City Manager, Recorder, Finance Director, and Community Development department. There are numerous hours dedicated to this process instead of focusing on other items that can benefit the community.

I pose one last question,

Do you think it is ethical to run for the Clinton City Council while in active litigation with the City and Davis County?

Adam Larsen is in active litigation with Clinton City.
