TROOP 10
06/06/2026
Troop 10 is so very proud when our Scouts go out into the world and are recognized for their leadership skills. We do a lot. A lot of community service. A lot of high adventure fun. A lot of high adventure blood, sweat, and (sometimes) tears. But at the end of the day, LEADERSHIP is the name of the game. In their homes, schools, and communities, our Scouts are showing that they have what it takes to be the leaders of the future! CONGRATULATIONS CLINTON!!
From Melissa Strasil Morgan:
"Super proud of this young man. Clinton spent the 5 days at University of Tennessee in Knoxville participating in the Tennessee Leadership Summit. 100 youth from across Tennessee FFA and 4-H programs attended. These young people participated in small groups projects and large group discussions learning different styles of Leadership. Clinton found that his style is trait theory, which means that he can just jump in and be a natural leaders.
There were 12 teams in the Sustainability Challenge. Teams took 3 days to put together their presentation and presented on day 5. Clinton's Team won 1st Place. Their presentation was on Vertical Farming. Clinton was also awarded 1 of 9 Torchbearer Awards for Outstanding Leadership and Participation.
Great Job Clinton!!!"

Another great weekend for Troop 10 riding the Virginia Creeper Trail, camping in Damascus and going to the Appalachian Trail Days Festival! We had 2 groups of bike riders, one went all the way to Abington and the other one went to the big bridge that goes over the Holston River.

CAMP STOVE WARS DAY 2, lunch edition! This was the meal that was planned by only the first and second year scouts without the help of the older scouts. The Riveter patrol had a slight disadvantage since they only had one newer scout who has only been with us for about month and has never had to do a meal planning before, but she did great and so did the other patrols.
The first patrol to bring in their completed lunch was Cobra. They made smash burgers in the cast-iron skillet with all the fixings and served it with macaroni salad, chips, Oreos for dessert and lemonade to drink.
The second patrol was Wolf and they served Italian subs on a toasted hoagie roll with all the fixings and served water to drink.
The third patrol were the Riveters and they made cheese quesadillas and served it with Sprite to drink and origami for plate decoration.
The fourth patrol was Hawk and they served pesto linguine with ground beef, topped with Parmesan, a salad, garlic bread and sweet tea to drink.
