Tony and Elizabeth, The Mississippi-based power couple and founders of Reimonenq & Co. LLC are currently eyeing the potential acquisition of a 276-room Hilton hotel property in North Jackson — one of metro Jackson’s largest hotels, sitting on 6 acres with 20,000 square feet of meeting space and an on-site restaurant. 🏨🔥

And this wouldn’t be their first major move. In 2022, Tony and Liz brokered a million-dollar deal to purchase and renovate a 20-unit strip mall — transforming it into Greenwood Plaza 2.0, a Black business incubator inspired by Tulsa’s historic Black Wall Street. 💪🏾

In 2023 they were named the SBA Minority Small Business Champions of the Year. And through their nonprofit Linked Up Inc., founded in 2017, they’ve been closing the wealth gap by providing free financial education, homeownership resources, and entrepreneurship support to their community. 🙏🏾
THIS is what building Black wealth looks like. 🖤

TAX SEASON TIDBIT...DEADLINE APPROACHING

While tax season is in full swing, a recent USPS change may catch some Ohio taxpayers by surprise this filing season, especially the millions who still mail in their returns.

Postmark dates now reflect when an envelope is processed by the post office rather than when it is dropped in a mailbox. As a result, taxpayers filing close to the April 15 deadline could find their returns considered late, facing failure-to-file penalties of up to 5% per month on unpaid taxes.

As outlined in the https://www.hrblock.com/tax-center/irs/deadlines-and-extensions/tax-return-postmark-date/, experts at H&R Block’s Tax Institute are available to share guidance on what Ohio taxpayers should know, key steps to take before the deadline, and how H&R Block’s filing options and expert support can help make the process easier.

Cuyahoga Job and Family Services Encourage SNAP Recipients To Be Aware of Work Requirement Changes Effective March 1, 2026.

CUYAHOGA COUNTY, OH – Federal changes to the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits, or food assistance, started on March 1, 2026. The changes increase the number of people who must meet work requirements to get SNAP benefits. These changes are part of House Resolution 1, or HR 1. It became law in the summer of 2025.

H.R. 1 changed who qualifies as an Able-Bodied Adult (ABA). Now, these individuals must take part in work activities. Customers aged 18-64 who are not exempt from the work requirement must show they are engaged in a work activity. (Previous rules exempted customers over age 54).

SNAP recipients without an exemption can get benefits for only three (3) months in any 3-year time period. If a customer does not meet an exemption and wants to keep SNAP benefits for longer than three months, they must complete and document at least 20 hours of work activity each week, totaling 80 hours a month. The work activity requirement may be met through:
· paid employment,
· qualified training, or
· community service (unpaid work)

Customers who don't qualify for an exemption might need to complete a work activity to keep their SNAP benefits. They were notified by mail earlier this year. For more details on these changes, visit our website at https://hhs.cuyahogacounty.gov/cjfs or see our SNAP Work Requirement FAQs.
