Fallen Tree Acres

This is probably my second favorite time of the year. Garlic scapes are being harvested, wildflowers are blooming everywhere, blackberries are ripening, milkweed is in bloom, Luna moths grace the tree trunks, elderflowers are in bloom, blueberries are growing, monarchs are visiting, sunflowers are starting to bloom and the flock is happy as can be. It’s such a rich season that falls second only to the abundance of late September. After being in a severe drought, followed by weeks of flooding rains, the weather lately has been absolutely perfect. I try to soak up these days, these moments, as much as I can.
