Today, Specialty Networks CEO, Shailendra Sharma, will give a presentation on “Big Data in Research: A practical perspective from community urology” during the Independent Practice Research Symposium at American Urological Association's Annual Meeting. ​

The symposium will focus on how to conduct clinical trials in an independent, community, or private practice setting. Those in attendance will have the opportunity to grow and nature collaborative relationships within the independent medical practice community. ​

April is National Minority Health & Cancer Awareness Month, and there is no better time to discuss how cancer disproportionately affects minorities.

Some cancers, specifically Prostate Cancer, are of particular concern to individuals of color. Black men are one and a half times more likely to be diagnosed with prostate cancer and are more than twice as likely to die from the disease. It’s also the most-diagnosed cancer in Hispanic men. ​

Specialty Networks proudly partners with SoNaR for CLE, an organization dedicated to ending prostate cancer health disparities in the city of Cleveland. This past year, SoNaR for CLE hosted three events in Cleveland, providing free Prostate Cancer screenings to nearly 100 men in our community. ​

These men are our fathers, brothers, sons, partners, friends, co-workers, and more. We encourage all health organizations to conduct appropriate programs and activities to promote healthfulness in minority and other communities experiencing health disparities. The time to make prostate cancer a nationwide priority is now!

The Prostate Cancer Academy next week is officially sold out! ​

We are excited for our members to engage with over 100 urology and uro-oncology experts and key opinion leaders from 60+ community, academic, and acute care institutions in interactive discussions on new breakthroughs, approvals, care optimization, and many more topics at this event, co-hosted by Specialty Networks and LUGPA. ​

Co-directors Dr. Neal Shore and Dr. David Morris, supported by our expert faculty and 20 thought leader speakers, will present, discuss, and debate all available preventative, diagnostic, therapeutic, research, and other care options for prostate cancer in a highly interactive format, via didactic lectures as well as case-based and panel discussions.
