A small reminder of what it takes
When you buy food, you’re buying the time, equipment, fuel, land, and seed. You’re buying months of commitment and planning: between the grower and the land; the buyer; the crew; the weather. You’re buying a portion of the risk someone took, that if they grew it you’d eventually come along and want to eat it.

Both the resources and the risk required of farmers are substantial, but invisible on the end of the fork.
