Christmas is a few short weeks away and people are so concerned about not being able to get the gifts they want because of the ports backlog. As I was crafting a few days ago it come to me we should let the greedy merchants keep their goods and celebrate an old fashioned Christmas. Christ birthday has become so commercialized many people don’t know the real reason for the season. If we took just this year and celebrated like the early settlers to this country-what a message that would send through our country.
Make the focus of this season in your home be about the real reason for the season. Be joyful with family and friends enjoy a meal and time to create lasting memories-make your gifts and let the kids make their gifts it will mean so much and the emphasis will be from the heart. Gather around the 🌲 and sing carols, have a family member read the Christmas story or have the kids act it out as it is read. A family game hour could be fun-put together a family trivia game or go for Family Feud, Charades, or Pictionary.
If we want to have holidays without being controlled by the government we must stand up and shout out now. It’s time to realize things are of no importance-you can’t take them with you when you die. Only time spent with those you love and memories shared are the true gifts of Christmas.
