The world’s only 100% Kevlar® textile fibred composite lined friction discs now available for Cat 797 Brakes.
Tribco, Inc. of Cleveland, OH is at Con expo / IFPE showing their prototype 797 Brake Disc. Tribco has a full line of upgraded brake and transmission discs for mobile equipment and other mining applications.
The company is filling a need for more hours between maintenance intervals in transmissions and brakes in mobile equipment. A patented Kevlar® fibered composite friction lining manufactured in the USA by Tribco, Inc. is now available for mining components. Tribco’s high performance Braketex® and Clutchtex® discs are “drop in” replacement dimensionally and metallically equal to OEM discs. But users see 3-5x longer wear life with Tribco Braketex® and Clutchtex® products. Some applications include load, haul and support vehicles for underground and surface equipment up to 240 Tons.
Oscar Rosa, (in charge of Latin American sales at Tribco) states that Tribco Clutchtex / Braketex discs are now running on 6 continents. Some examples are Volvo trucks at a gold mine in Indonesia. Underground Caterpillar loaders in New York, which have been running Tribco discs in place of paper lined discs for years, help to achieve longer component life than those equipped with OEM discs. One of the company’s current case studies is now underway now in Caterpillar 777G haul trucks in Mexico and Australia running Clutchtex® lined transmission discs in clutch pack 3 in place of OE discs which have been the limiting factor to achieving benchmark hours. The low wear rate and greater heat resistance of Clutchtex® should prove to be an advantage. Tribco is in booth # S83259 in the IFPE section at the show
