Congratulations, Rachel Saggio! Winner of Cleveland APL's inaugural Vet Tech Scholarship Program. 🥳🐾

Rachel Saggio joined the APL team nearly 4 years ago, starting her career journey working with the animal care team. Rachel has since transitioned to the Animal Care Resource Center (ARC) where she directly connects to help the people and animals in our community.

The Cleveland APL Vet Tech Scholarship program supports employees in pursuing an associate degree in Veterinary Technology and prepares them for licensure. The goal of the program is to provide interested employees with a path for career growth to become a registered veterinary technician (RVT) at the Cleveland APL. RVTs play a critical role in the fulfillment of our mission and commitment to providing high-quality veterinary services to our shelter animals and clients.

The scholarship is funded and made possible by Cleveland APL board member Ageleke Zapis and her husband Lee.

This 6-year-old gray gentleman may have started his journey as an injured stray, but these days he's focused on the finer things in life: snacks, snuggles, and stealing your spot in bed.

Gandolf is the kind of cat who acts like he's known you forever. He loves everyone, happily hops into laps, enjoys being picked up, and is thrilled to spend his evenings tucked under the covers beside you. When he's not talking about his day with you, you'll find him batting around a catnip toy for a few minutes before deciding he's earned a nap.

As if that wasn't enough, this fluffy sweetheart is also wonderful with other cats. Friendly, affectionate, and full of personality.
