On May 29, the Coast Guard released details of a dramatic rescue that took place near Santa Cruz, California. An MH-65 Dolphin helicopter crew from Air Station San Francisco responded after three people became trapped inside a coastal cave with no safe route back to shore. With rising surf and steep terrain eliminating conventional rescue options, the aircrew executed a precision hoist operation to recover all three individuals safely.
