Good morning, all of you sweet and beautiful people! Here are just some thoughts for the sake of conveying my thoughts to you. I’ve never been very good at this social media thing. I’ve never been into the idea of posing myself, or what I do, in some sort of unrealistic or less genuine manner than what you can perceive with your own, filter-less eyes or script-less minds. I’ve never been into the idea of boosting myself up to something I am not. The whole notion of shouting from the mountaintop of social media to get likes, views, and followers is pretty lame to me. The thought of making some sort of attempt at being a content creator, instead of a small business owner, worker, and member of this community seems unbecoming of what I set out to do here at Terrapin. Engaging with the popularity contest of the World Wide Web feels like it would take away from what this old brick building on W. 14th is capable of. I see a lot of that sort of thing going on nowadays and it makes me feel… uncomfortable. When I walk away from here at the end of the day, I appreciate knowing that I attempted to do my best in the flesh. Anyway, those are some of my thoughts. Happy Friday morning to all of you beautiful people!! It is looking like the weather is inching into something wonderful for the weekend - rising temps and some sunshine. We’re over here baking up some tasty treats, checking in with our regulars, and looking forward to seeing you all. If there’s anything that is important to us here, it is supporting the people around us. It’s creating a safe space for you all to come and be yourself. It’s not only being a part of the community, but also being a part of building community.
