📢 NEW 2026 Basic Needs Mini-Grant

In response to federal and state cuts to basic resources, First Year Cleveland is offering a second round of rapid-response mini-grants up to $5,000. Grants must support basic needs for pregnant/parenting families with infants up to age 1 in the zip codes with the highest infant mortality rates in Cuyahoga County.

Basic needs can include:
🍎 Food & nutrition support
🍼 Diapers & baby supplies
👩🏾‍🍼Breastfeeding/lactation supplies
🧴Personal hygiene items
👶🏿 Car seats & safety items
🚙 Transportation assistance
🚨 Emergency rent & utility support

Community voice is a powerful driver of change. First Year Cleveland prioritizes the input of our community in everything we do. From health care providers who share trends they’re seeing and challenges they face in their work to the families who’ve lost a baby too soon, we center our work on the experiences of those indirectly and directly impacted by infant mortality.
