1st days in Puerto Escondido and it's nothing but warm sands, sunsets, tacos, and mezcalitas!

This little photo series can't express how lovely Turkey was. I can't get over the scenery and the delicious food. Turkish breakfast is overwhelming at first but when you return you just don't know how you can live without it. So many small details go into every meal and the adventure is worth it just to have Turkish delights with your coffee, friendly smiles, spring water flowing in each village, and beautiful vistas. A short flight from Cappadocia landed us in Izmir where we hopped in a car and headed off to see the Library of Congress, historical ruins and the magical pools in Pamukkale before heading south to the coast.

Next stop in the summer travel voyage was Cappadocia. This beautiful landscape held so many surprises - including 50 degree night temps, cave hotels, hot air balloons, lush river valleys, amazing views and local treats! Breakfast was of course a feast for the eyes and the senses, the Testi Kebab was a delicious stew made in a clay pot, opened at the table and poured into your dish and even the potato chips were yummy. Hiking here was worth every hill climbed if only to see the sunset, although a cocktail usually waited at the top for you!

Next up on the food adventures was Istanbul! Turkey has been on my bucket list for quite some time. Not only for the historical significance it holds but also for the food scene. It did not disappoint. The breakfast each morning was so elaborate that often times lunch was missed but it was made up for with turkish coffee, baklava, rooftop sunsets and multi course tasting menus! Every meal was delicious with standout meals at Aheste, Murver and Cafe Privato. If you've ever thought about heading to Istanbul - I'd highly recommend it!
