OFFICIAL NEWS: Lee University has named Dr. Angela Waltrip, Community Coordinator & Coach since 2016, as its next LEAP Director, effective July 5, 2021. During the past six years, Dr. Waltrip has coordinated and overseen our LEAP Peer Mentor Program. Dr. Waltrip has also served as an Adjunct Faculty in the School of Religion and taught several online courses for the Division of Adult Learning (DAL). SPOTLIGHT: This week, Lee University LEAP is excited to kindly feature our very own Laurel A. Desmarais (‘21), who received her B.A. in Political Science from LeeU Arts & Sciences. During the past four years, Laurel has served as our LEAP Office Student Assistant where she played an instrumental role in the day-to-day operations of our program between 2017 and 2021. Laurel was an active member of the Lee University McNair Scholars Program and served as a Teaching Assistant for students learning American Sign Language (ASL) at Lee University. Upon graduation, Laurel will pursue her Master of Social Work (MSW) degree this Fall 2021 at The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.
