Okay friends, something is weighing heavily on my heart and I'm going to make one post to address it - and then I am never going to do this again. The amount of drama and hatred in this community has gotten out of control. I don't often talk about stuff like this because I don't like too. I don't like engaging with it, encouraging it, and to be quite honest - I don't ever want to see it.

I'm tired of the he said/she said, I'm tired of the gossip, I'm tired of the bullying, the backhanded remarks and the rumors. Someone is always stirring the pot and it is exhausting to see. This community is made up mostly of adults, and it is time that people start acting like it. Don't speculate about someone else's business, don't take someone else's word as fact and most of all STOP THE HATRED.

If you have a problem with someone, talk to them about it. It doesn't need to be blasted all over the community pages. If someone asks for care advice - BE KIND. If you disagree with how someone runs their business - don't shop with them. All this discourse is just ruining the community and ultimately making advocating for hermit crabs so much harder.

Of course I've had negative interactions in this community, I've had rumors spread about me, I've had my toes stepped on and have spent a lot of hours agonizing over how toxic things can get. I've been in this community for almost 6 years and my shop has been open for 4 and a half - I've seen so many people and shops come and go because of petty situations and mindless gossip.

I don't choose to speak about these thing publicly because I don't like to put this stuff out into the world. Drama between crab owners, or between shop owners is SO INSIGNIFICANT compared to what many other people in this world are going through.

Please don't private message me looking to get information about someone else. I buy from EVERYONE and often I don't even know what the drama currently is in the community. I'm working 12 hour days most days and I don't have the time or the want to keep track of this intricate web of gossip and drama. I have OCD and PTSD and the last thing I want or need is to damage all the work I have done to keep myself mentally healthy. This stuff isn't good for anyone in this community.

So here's the deal, this page is my safe place, and YOUR safe place. I don't care who you support, who you shop with, or who you like/dislike. Need care advice? Feel free to reach out. Can't afford food? Feel free to reach out, need business advice? Feel free to reach out. Did I upset you? Feel free to reach out. Want to sell the same stuff I sell or use a mix name I've used, or use the same packaging? Sure, but also feel free to reach out if you'd like. I literally don't care about any of that stuff.

I removed some snarky comments last week and that is not something I ever want to do again. Don't fight on my page. Keep it clean in my comments, spread positivity and love, or please - just go somewhere else.
