Happy Heavenly Father's Day to my father, David McDonald.

Life has been so busy that I have not had the opportunity to properly grieve your passing. But today, on Father's Day, I pause to reflect on the incredible man you were and the lasting impact you had on my life.

I reflect on the strength, courage, determination, and commitment you instilled in me as your daughter. Those qualities continue to guide me every day and have helped shape me into the woman I am today.

It has only been a short while since you've been gone, and there are still moments when it feels unreal. Today, however, I am reminded of the many roles you played and the legacy you left behind. I remember the entrepreneur you were, the politician you were, the fighter you were, the hard worker you were, the encourager you were, and the no-nonsense man you were. You were a man who spoke his mind, stood firmly on his principles, and never backed down from what you believed was right.

You taught me to be fearless in the face of adversity, to work hard for what I want, and to never allow obstacles to define my character or future. You showed me the importance of integrity, resilience, and standing up for others. You protected me, encouraged me, corrected me when necessary, and loved me in a way only a father can.

As I look back, I realize that so much of who I am today is because of you. Your strength lives within me. Your determination drives me. Your wisdom guides me. Your voice still echoes in my heart, reminding me to keep moving forward, no matter how difficult the journey may be.

Today, I honor your life, your sacrifices, and your love. I honor the lessons you taught me and the example you set. Though you are no longer physically here, your spirit remains with me every day.

Thank you for being my father, a provider, my protector, my teacher, and one of my greatest inspirations and fan. I miss you! But I am forever grateful that God chose you to be my dad.

Rest peacefully, Daddy. Your legacy lives on through me, and I will continue to make you proud.
