Jewish Community Camp

We played outside this morning and collected some small leaves for an art project. After snack we went to the Highland Rec Pool to swim and after we came back, we had art. We created some hedgehogs out of leaves and they were so cute! For snack we went outside to melt chocolate in the hot sun to make s’mores. Lots of chocolaty faces and sticky hands, but oh! so yummy!

Jumping, bouncing, flippin, and flying…all good fun at SkyZone today. There’s going to be some exhausted campers tonight! Game room and playground play back at camp in the afternoon.

The campers had so much fun in Krav Maga this morning. Thank you Joe and Dora for eight weeks of learning attack and self defense moves in such a fun way! Our campers will not forget what they learned! In the afternoon we had “Mad Science “ visit us and we loved playing with all the science experiments. We also played a Color War game, collecting hidden colored ribbons, and it got very intense, especially towards the end! And Kona came to visit too for the last time.

Our Color War teams this week…the “Green Alligators “ aka Green Gators and the “ Orange Ocelots”. Let the games begin….

We had a dunk tank all day at camp and everyone got dunked in the end. Lots of shrieking and squealing going on! We had our pizza outside as a picnic and a game of bingo after lunch. More dunking play in the afternoon, followed by a “blind” tasting Color War Food Challenge. There were eleven different types of edible “foods” and our campers had to touch/smell and taste them to guess what they were. (Baked beans, Jello, vanilla essence (no one guessed that one!) Maple Syrup, Tomato Sauce, Frosting, Chocolate, etc). It was a great competition! We had a lovely Kabbalat Shabbat with Ms Beth Gelman singing a song with us and finally closed the week with some blessings.

Twinning Day at camp. We loved how the campers coordinated with each other and everyone got team points.
We each braided our lovely challah and some couldn’t wait to eat it before they got home…and can’t say I blame them!
