Our hearts are with the family, friends, and fellow firefighters mourning the loss of the brave pilot who gave his life while helping battle the Gold Mountain Fire in Colorado.

Fire seasons are becoming increasingly complex and dangerous, and the men and women on the front lines face extraordinary risks to protect lives, homes, businesses, and the public lands that support iconic wildlife and outdoor heritage.

We extend our gratitude to the thousands of wildland firefighters and aviation crews working tirelessly to protect lives, communities, and the landscapes we all cherish. The Mule Deer Foundation salutes our heroes on the ground and in the air.
