West Nile virus has been detected in Salt Lake County mosquitoes, including downtown and Sugar House 🦟

Because mosquitoes can fly several miles, everyone should take precautions:
• Wear long sleeves and pants after dusk
• Use EPA-approved repellents (DEET, picaridin, IR3535, or oil of lemon eucalyptus)
• Dump standing water around your yard (buckets, toys, plant trays, pet dishes)
• Clean gutters, trim tall grass, and check screens

Most people who get West Nile won’t even know it—but severe illness can happen, especially for those over 50 or with weakened immune systems.

Let’s keep our community safe this summer.

Based on the call volume these past 2 weeks id say were square in the middle of a wasp rodeo right now. If ypu or someone you know is struggling with these little over active heros let us know and we'll cone out to save the day. Just dont laugh when we run away from the wasps to regain our wits.
