Happy Cinco de Mayo! A gigantic sombrero is always the best fashion accessory! It pulls together any outfit. 😉

However, Cinco de Mayo isn’t about sombreros and tequila, it’s about Mexico overcoming incredible odds at the Battle of Pueblo which was a turning point in their history. It is also not their Independence Day which was actually 50 years earlier on September 16.

So today, we celebrate Mexico and their tenacity, strength, and their incredible country. I love everything about Mexico. Mexico has been my happy place since I lived there in my 20s. The people are some of the nicest I’ve met. The food is incredible. Their sense of family and community is abounding, and friends become family easily.

They have deep, impactful traditions and they celebrate little things as if they are big (my kind of people). Not to mention the fabulous weather and beaches. Shout out to all our friends still living there. Especially mi familia Sandy and Vidal. For my American friends celebrating tonight, here’s a tequila toast for you – “Arriba, abajo, al centro, pa dentro” (glasses up, glasses down, glasses to the front, down the hatch – wishing health to everyone participating and to overcoming the odds).

Tuesday Truth. Whatever this looks like for your life, make yourself a priority. Especially in our adult lives, we become so busy that there doesn’t seem to be time for anything but everyone else and work. Invest in yourself! Learn a new skill, make time to work out, meet a bestie for a drink... Your wants and needs are important. It makes us more fulfilled humans. 🥰💪👑

Thankful Thursday! This week I am thankful for some special people I have met that opened our eyes to a new opportunity and are walking us down the path. I am also always grateful to you, my faithful followers and friends. 🥰
