Today I dropped off some more chicken and duck eggs and some cucumbers to my friends at Rooted Harmony Market. While I was in there, Bethany asked me if I wanted to try some goat cheese. The answer was a quick YES!

So I bought some roasted garlic goat cheese from Prairie Thyme Farm and then decided I needed some pasta sauce from Bacon and Coffee. The plan for dinner quickly became goat cheese filled meatballs with whipped Italian potatoes and sauce. The meat came from Lyles Custom Meat Processing and the potatoes weren’t so local (because we ate everything we grew already). But let me tell you this nearly locally harvested dinner was everything I dreamed it to be.

Moral of the story… buy and support local. All day, every day. When you do, you’re helping your neighbors build their dreams and support their families while you’re consuming something practically grown, made or harvested right down the road.
