โ๏ธ Ohio's summer heat can be dangerous for dogs. ๐ถ
As temperatures climb, remember the three essentials every dog needs to stay safe:
๐ง Fresh Water โ Keep clean, cool water available at all times and check bowls often.
๐ Nutritious Food โ Feed a balanced diet and avoid leaving food outside where it can spoil in the heat.
๐ Shade & Shelter โ Every dog needs protection from the sun and extreme temperatures. A doghouse alone isn't enough if it traps heat.
A few more summer reminders:
๐พ Walk during the cooler morning or evening hours.
๐ฅ Test pavement before walksโif it's too hot for your hand, it's too hot for your dog's paws.
๐ Never leave your dog in a parked vehicle, even for a few minutes.
โ ๏ธ Know the signs of heat exhaustion: excessive panting, drooling, weakness, vomiting, or collapse. If you notice these symptoms, seek veterinary care immediately.
