We love peeling back the layers and uncovering the history of old spaces!

We are honored to have received a Mention Award at the 2025 Cincinnati Design Awards . We would like to thank the jury for highlighting our preservation efforts and finesse of materials.

This project focuses on the concept of industrial retreat. The shell of the structure provided bones that anchored the design. Concrete floors, rough brick walls, and exposed structural steel formed distinctive framework. The rich, organic palette was woven through and around this existing lattice. A two-story corten steel fireplace is the heart of the home, providing both literal and material warmth. The walnut slab, plaster hood, and honed granite counters bring in natural textures at a large scale in the kitchen and dining area.

Designed for entertaining, the living space acts as a central hub. Surrounded by window seating, it provides an inviting spot for conversation. Both the mezzanine library and primary suite adjacent to this central hub, provide private sanctuary with the ability to be connected or secluded from the rest of the home. The entertainment features extend to the roof, where the penthouse creates a quiet refuge of outdoor living.
