Hello! Today is International Day of Zero Waste, which also marks the 1-year anniversary of our Zero Waste Program powered by . To celebrate, we’re sharing some photos, milestones, and highlights from our first year.
Over the past year, we’ve diverted 2,907.94 lbs of post-production textile scrap from landfill by processing it into recycled fill, also known as SV SHRED. We’ve created new products, welcomed community scrap drop-offs, and built partnerships with businesses to help scale the program.
We’re also collaborating with a team of senior engineering students at the University of Cincinnati to help research & develop our textile fiberboard program. Looking ahead, our goal for 2026 is to double the volume of textile scrap we divert from landfill as we expand partnerships and continue advancing SV SHRED and fiberboard as scalable solutions for textile waste.
At Sew Valley, we believe responsible manufacturing means taking responsibility for materials at every stage of production. Whether at the design stage, on the factory floor, or in how waste is reintegrated back into the material lifecycle. Through circular innovation and collaboration, our Zero Waste Program is proving that a more equitable and sustainable future for apparel is possible. We’re just getting started and look forward to the next year ahead!

Hi! We’re excited to share that in addition to our Factory Sale & Fundraiser coming up this Saturday, 12/6, we’re participating in the Cincinnati Gives Challenge again, AND we’re featured in the Charitable Giving magazine this year!
The Cincinnati Gives Challenge is a friendly fundraising competition where local charities compete to raise the most money with the top teams winning additional cash prizes from Cincinnati Magazine. We’re a small but mighty nonprofit, and have an ambitious $10,000 fundraising goal this year. Will you help us get there? Every bit helps!
The challenge goes from 12/1 -12/11, with a link to donate in our bio. Thanks for your support!

Factory Sale is on Saturday, December 6th from 11-3!
We’re super excited to include another Clothing Swap at this year’s sale! Bring up to 10 winter clothing items you no longer wear, and swap em for something new!
HOW TO SWAP:
- Winter clothing items only! (jackets, sweaters, coats, scarves, pants, long sleeves, etc)
- Make sure all clothing is clean — think ‘items that you would let your friend borrow!’
- Drop off up to 10 winter clothing items to Sew Valley between Monday, December 1st and Friday, December 5th, from 10:00am-6:00pm. We will take your name and clothing count, and give you tickets to use the day of the event!
- Come back to Sew Valley on 12/6 during our 5th annual Factory Sale, and find your new clothes!
