Pride is more than a celebration, it’s a reminder that everyone deserves access to safe, affirming, and evidence-based healthcare.
This Pride Month, we’re highlighting why LGBTQIA+ sexual health is a public health priority. From barriers to care and provider bias to disparities in sexual health outcomes, these challenges are not inevitable, they are the result of systems that can and must do better.

We talk about pregnancy. We celebrate birth. But too often, we go silent about what comes after.
Maternal mental health conditions are among the most common complications of pregnancy and childbirth, yet the majority of women experiencing them go untreated.
In the U.S., 1 in 5 women will experience a maternal mental health condition, including postpartum depression, anxiety, birth trauma, PTSD, intrusive thoughts, panic disorders, and emotional disconnection. But reducing maternal mental health to only “postpartum depression” misses the full reality so many women are living.
The crisis isn’t just clinical, it’s systemic. Lack of screening, stigma, limited access to care, and the pressure to appear “grateful” or “fine” leave too many mothers suffering in silence.
Support after birth is healthcare.
Mental health is maternal health.
We cannot keep treating survival like success.
