Downbound Books is in its 6th year of serving our community! The old-fashioned neighborhood bookstore at 4139 Apple St. presents books, ideas and authors that aren’t always so easy to discover elsewhere, and works to stock an ever-evolving selection of books that resonate with our community. With just over 500 square feet of selling space, it’s the very definition of “small but mighty!”

In an interview with Writer's Digest, owner Greg Kornbluh stated, “Connecting with so many book people from all across the region has been really lovely, and I think the most rewarding thing has been having them come to trust our taste. At our scale we can get to know our customers and get a sense of their interests, and so we can steer people toward things we think they’ll like, and it’s always a delight when they come back to tell us we got it right."

This June, the shop is again raising money to support Transform in their work providing free wardrobes to transgender and gender nonconforming youth. Add a $5 Downbound Pride Pack (rainbow foil bookmark and a Downbound Pride sticker) to your purchase, and that $5 will be donated to Transform along with an additional 10% of your total spend. You can make your purchase in person or online, all month long!
