CancerFree KIDS
05/01/2026
Registration is open for the Ohio Department of Health's 5th Annual Childhood Cancer Summit, coming May 19, 2026.
We encourage childhood cancer patient families to register for this free event to hear the latest updates in childhood cancer research, care, and survivorship. The theme of the program is Ohio Partners to Improve Childhood Cancer and sessions will highlight the impact of working together in a variety of ways, including:
🎗️New state and federal investments in childhood cancer research
🎗️Improved peer support and social work collaborations
🎗️Advances in survivorship, palliative care, and the transition for childhood cancer patients to adolescence and adulthood
You can attend the event virtually, or select to be part of one of the watch parties in Cincinnati and Columbus, where CancerFree KIDS representatives will be in attendance along with other nonprofit partners supporting the childhood cancer community. More details about the in-person events and registration information can be found here: https://forms.cloud.microsoft/g/mEDEyWq26n

Champion Highlight🌟 Meet Ruby! Ruby was 4 years old when she was diagnosed with Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia on July 7, 2024. She's currently in the maintenance mode of her treatment. Ruby’s favorite color is pink, and she loves to wear pretty dresses and twirl around the room when she dances.
Ruby has already found a meaningful way to help spread the word about the Butterfly Walk—she came up with the idea to create postcards about the event to pass out to her friends and family, inviting them to join her and support CancerFree KIDS.
Last year she wasn't able to participate in the Butterfly Walk with her intense treatment, which makes this year even more special. We are so excited to see Ruby—dressed, dancing, and sharing her joy—at the walk this year. 🦋
